April,19 – 2020
The following is the summary of the discussions we had during the Conference Call on April, 19 – 2020
Participants
We had the total of 25+ members attended the call today. Dr. Ruknudin conducted the meeting.
Summary:
Agenda items and summary of the meeting
• JMC Alumni participation for the Corona Relief fund for Tamil Nadu.
• Discussed website hosting update, necessary to change the hosting to different plan and server.
• How can we better communicate with members via Blogs and so on.
• Discussed on getting the opportunities from the members and post at our website or Whats-app due to possible effect of Covid-19.
• Br. Ahamed brought the idea of IAS Academy like coaching center at our current/former students of JMC. Dr. Ruknudin will check with college and see the current situations at JMC.
• Due to Covid-19, the current JMC Principal visit to USA has been postponed.
• Canada members are also joined to our group and the group will be called as NA (North America).
• Next Meeting will be on May -2nd week.

March,14 – 2020
Alumni members conference call
The following is the summary of the discussions we had during the Conference Call on March, 14 – 2020
Participants
We had the total of 25 members who attended the call today. Mohamed Faruk (NJ) did the introduction and Nilamudeen (CA) conducted the meeting.
Summary:
Recapped the previous telephone conferences and what we have achieved so far about the group including the member registration of our alumni website and other activities.
Agenda item # 1. To achieve the 100+ members to the WhatsApp JMC Alumni group.
• Requested the members to give references to their friends and neighbors in their areas and encourage them to be a part of the group.
• Requested them to register at the JMC Alumni website with their information such as their current jobs and professional profiles.
• There are a few suggestions such as very few members do not use WhatsApp. Many members have not registered at the website but the information and messages need to be conveyed to them via phone call, email or WhatsApp. There are still many Jamalians living in US and we need to reach out to them.
Agenda item # 2. How to coordinate JMC principal visit on 19 May 2020 and 13 Jun 2020
• Our beloved Principal is planning to visit Chicago, USA on May 19th 2020 to attend the APPNA conference. He requested the USA Jamalians to arrange a meeting during his visit.
• We have discussed various options to arrange the meeting such as having the meeting at a central location like East Coast (NJ/NY/PA area), DC/MD area, West Coast (CA) and Mid-west (Chicago area)
• Requested the members to check their availability and give their feedback on the meeting location.
• Will send out a survey/ communication to get the consensus on the meeting location and date.
Agenda # 4. Office bearer selection/ election
• Currently we do not have formal executive committee/ Office bearers for the group. We are planning to select/ elect the office bearers during the Principal visit in May/ June 2020.
• Requested the members to participate actively and take up the responsibilities.
Agenda # 5. Jamalian Alumni Global Block
• College management is planning to construct a new building called Jamalian Alumni Global Block at JMC campus. They are requesting financial support from the alumni members across the globe.
• Discussed about how to support this project and requested the members to contribute generously for this noble cause.
• Other discussions:
• Mentoring current students at JMC for their career improvement.
• Virtual conference/ guest lectures by US alumni to JMC students.
• Explore the possibility of MOU between JMC and US universities for student exchange programs.
Next meeting:
We will have the next telephone conference on the second week of April – 2020.

Status of Alumni Registration/ complete profile updates
Check the status of the assignment to reach out to fellow Jamalians in USA/CA via phone call, email or WhatsApp to ensure to strengthen Alumni. Due to the direct phone calls and continue follow up, there are few alumni updated their profile but still need more follow up.

Enhance the connection with JMC Alumni, JMC, Trichy
USA Alumni members will have a telephone conference next week Sunday (July 28,2019) with the Assistant Alumni Secretary (Dr. Syed Ali Padusha) to get more information on how to enhance the connections with JMC Alumni Team, at JMC.

How to get more Alumni to involve volunteer time to have the improved benefits to the college and current students
Few new members were joined this conference call and agreed to serve as a mentor for the current students of JMC.

Alumni Global Meet at JMC, Trichy
Three USA Alumni are planning to attend the Global meet at JMC, Trichy on August 15th 2019.

Reach out to fellow Jamalians in USA/CA via phone call, email or WhatsApp to ensure to strengthen Alumni. Each attendees will assign few folks who are currently in WhatsApp and they will reach out to them to encourage everyone to update their Profile information with a recent photo. Currently there are 50 members registered at the website.

Enhance the connection with JMC Alumni, JMC, Trichy
Reach out to JMC Alumni coordinators to connect directly with JMC Alumni USA team via email, if possible request them to attend the conference calls.

JMC Alumni Office Bearers
Currently we have 40% alumni has registered with the Alumni website, encourage everyone to participate actively in the conference calls and other alumni activities.

Increase volunteer time to have the improved benefits to the college and current students
Active student mentorship program for current JMC students to guide them for professional and academic improvement. Documenting success stories on the website.

Alumni blog at the website
Alumni members who are in senior roles/ successful in their career agreed to write blogs on their experiences to motivate current/ former students of JMC.

Prof. Dr. Akbarsha’s Visit to New Jersey
Prof. Dr. Akbarsha (Former Professor & Head, Department of Animal Science, Bharathidasan University, Trichy & Former JMC Zoology Dept Professor) visited New Jersey.
Attendees: Mohamed Faruk, Mohamed Meeran, Mohamed Ghouse, Dr. Akbarsha, Farook Gani, Amanullah.

Prof. George (CS Department) Visit to USA
Recently prof. George Visited USA for his personal trip, few of the Alumni has honored him by a visit in Jersey City, New Jersey.
Several topics were discussed with him to form an official alumni Chapter in USA and its objectives and functions.

April, 27 – 2018
Dr. Ruknudin’s (USA Alumni) visit and discussion with JMC Team
Dr. Ruknudin visited India for his vacation and met with JMC Principal and Team and discussed various topics on USA Alumni Chapter.
